| I was born in Trenton,
New Jersey on June 3, 1954. In 1962 my family moved
to Utica Michigan ( a northern suburb of Detroit)
where I lived until I went to college in 1972. I
attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor
for four years and majored in zoological sciences.
In 1976 I joined the U.S. Peace Corps and was a
high school math and science teacher for three years
in Malaysia. More specifically, I lived for those
years in Ranau, Sabah in East Malaysia on the island
of Borneo. It was during these years and the trips
I took to and from the United States that enabled
me to travel extensively in Southeast Asia and the
Indian subcontinent as well as many parts of Europe.
One of the most memorable and awe inspiring sights
of my life is the view from the roof of a Tibetan
village of the snow capped Himalayan mountains in
full moonlight. After my time in the Peace Corps
I returned to southeast Michigan and worked as an
activities coordinator for the Anchor Bay School
District working with continuing adult education
(GED classes) and coordinating the evening classes
offered by the school district. In 1982 I applied
for and received employment by the U.S. Government
once again. This time I was employed as an air traffic
controller. The training for the job was extremely
intense but I found I was well suited for the work
and loved the challenge. I moved to Houston Texas
and lived there for 24 years until I retired in
2006. In the summer of 2007 I moved to Milwaukee
Wisconsin where I now reside. My most enduring hobbies
include music, growing plants and working out. |
